Design and Build

Want to design and build a new home but don’t want to blow the budget? We offer up a staged design process in which we work alongside our preferred architects and draftsmen to develop a house design that works for you. Our involvement in the design process includes intermittent pricing estimates to best insure your custom design comes in at a budget that you can afford.

Stage 1- CONCEPTUAL design

Site specific information and personal requirements are gathered and an initial conceptual design is produced. These conceptual drawings allow us to seek pricing on big ticket items such as framing, roofing, foundations etc, producing an estimate build cost. This step provides you with a low cost option to explore your design ideas, without going too deep.

Stage 2- Final design

Material selection and specifications are finalised and presented with a fixed price to build. Adjustments are made. From here, construction plans are completed and run through the consent process. I C Builders are proudly affiliated with the Master Builders Association. As such, the build contract is supported by Master Builders 10 year guarantee.

Stage 3- Build

Your dream home is now ready to become a reality. Plans have been developed, pricing has been completed and adjusted to suit your needs and consent has been granted.

Alpine Estate + studio, Wanaka

Alpine Estate is a 230sqm, three bedroom home with separate large studio unit above the garage. This house has two full bathrooms plus one separate toilet, large open plan kitchen & living, and a generous double garage with plenty of storage for toys.

CHurch Bay, Banks Peninsula

The Church Bay house is a 105sqm, two bedroom, one bathroom open plan design. A beautiful and timeless combination of Japanese and Scandinavian influence gives this home a modern feel for easy living and relaxing. Timber ceilings, floors and cabinetry achieve a quality finish and feel. The exterior clad in Shou Sugi Ban, an ancient Japanese wood preservation technique, gives a long lasting black finish and texture.
